- The Process is easy as possible considering you will only work with Tyler from design to install.
- Do you have your own design in mind? Great, I’d love to make it a reality.
- Struggling with your project? No problem, I can troubleshoot and figure it out.
- Here is what to expect when choosing luxury precast concrete as your material.
Quote/Measure
To quote your project, all I need is a simple sketch with measurements and info for any knockouts for sinks, cooktops etc. Measure the width, length and depth of your space. Make note of exposed finished edges and which edges touch walls. If you would like backsplash, be sure to note where and if you want strips or full height slabs.
Color/Edging
Whether you’d like solid color or a natural stone finish I use the color chart listed below. If you want a custom color, I do my best at matching paint swatches. There are multiple edge profiles to choose from and are listed below. For square edged profiles I offer them as thin as 1.25″, for a design they are 2″ thick. Edges can also have a thickened reveal which means the finished sides can appear up to 12″ thick while keeping the weight of the piece down significantly.
Templating
Templating allows me to construct an exact layout of your space to ensure a perfect fit. This is crucial because no wall is straight or square in construction. When your quote is approved, I will come out to make these. Cabinets must be securely installed on new builds. For remodels, your counter tops must be cleared off. The template appointment usually takes 1-2 hours.
At this time the following must be present
- Sinks, Stoves, Faucets, Grilles, any sort of accessories that require a knockout for installation.
- Color and edge profile must be confirmed.
- Estimate/contract must be signed and dated.
- 50% deposit is required, check is preferred.
Casting the concrete
Once templates are made this allows me to construct forms in my shop by tracing out the layout. The forms are constructed precisely to your specs and then ready for concrete. The concrete is mixed and placed in the forms. When the concrete cures your product is then put through a series of finishing techniques to provide a lasting functional piece of concrete art sure to last a lifetime.
Installation
An installation date will be scheduled at the time of completion of your product(s). Roughly 2-3 weeks from templating. If for any reason you need to reschedule a 24-hour notice is required or additional charges may apply. Cabinets must be cleared off at this time and ready for installation. If existing countertops must be removed this will be an added service as I will haul them to the landfill.
Installation checklist
- Cabinets must be completely cleared off unless contract includes existing countertop removal.
- Sinks and faucets must be on site to ensure fitment for plumbing.
- Provide a clear path to the installation location.
- Must be on site to sign off on the job and make final payment.
